If you are planning to get a quad bike, you might be excited by the prospect. After all, these vehicles can be great fun for both youngsters and adults alike. However, it is vital that you adopt a responsible approach to you use of mini quad bikes.
Firstly, it is vital to bear in mind the fact that these offerings are designed for off-road use, so they are often not suitable for using on highways. Also, even if you have experience of driving a car or motorbike, it may take you a while to get used to controlling a quad. They handle very differently.
Therefore, before you launch into high-speed manoeuvres, it is important to master the techniques involved in turning and cornering.
Another top tip concerns head protection. To feel safe and secure on your bike it is important to don a helmet. These items are not expensive and they help to protect your head in the event of a crash.
You might also benefit from wearing protective clothing such as special boots, trousers and jackets.
Meanwhile, it is inadvisable to take passengers on mini quads. Doing this can unbalance the vehicles and make them difficult to handle.
Another issue to bear in mind is the terrain you are on. You should check that your bike is suited to the conditions.
As long as you take issues like this into account when using your quad, you should have many hours of fun on the vehicle.
Here at Gadget-Box we sell a range of these products, along with our remote control helicopters and other such provisions.

Sometimes our blog entries might come off a bit “preachy” on the whole subject of Health & Safety, but it’s only because we’re experts and know from experience what anything from an RC helicopter to mini dirt bikes can do when not handled with the proper respect. The great British winter can often be freezing , blustery, wet and muddy. But at least two of those shouldn’t stop avid riders getting the most out of their mini quads! (Few things in life are more satisfying that powering through a huge muddy puddle, no matter how old you are!) Although a significant portion of our clients are the likes of farmers and rangers looking for a quick, easy way to move about their land, quads can also make fantastic machines for regular folks looking for a bit of outdoor fun. Our 49cc, 50cc and 110cc quads are not road legal, so you won’t be riding to the park or zipping about the roads near your house, but if you can find a large, secluded space to ride, that’s ideal. A great way to get around the whole “no public spaces” riding law is to have a word with a local farmer or landowner. As long as you’re not a nuisance to livestock or the public, some farmers may give you permission to ride on their land. ALWAYS ask first. ALWAYS wear protective head and body gear. The winter can be pretty unforgiving on fingers, so gloves are a must.

Our range of ATV quad bikes marks the preferred mode of transport for the likes of farmers and agricultural workers. And in the interest of keeping all our riders safe and up to date on the latest ride and maintenance advice, here’s a quick safety guide for first time riders.
Even mini quad bikes can reach quite a pace, so it’s essential that you know what you’re letting yourself in for from the word go. If you don’t have a reliable instructor, consider visiting a quad bike experience day to get a little hands-on tuition from an expert.
• Remember, recklessly handling a quad bike can result in serious or even fatal injury.
• Stick to your limits. Quad bikes are high speed off-road powered vehicles, so you need to respect what they can do. It’s always best to start slow and develop driving techniques, balance etc.
• Wear the appropriate kit, which means helmet/goggles at minimum and a full body suit if necessary.
• Always keep both hands on the handlebars and both feet on the foot rests.
• If you’re riding with a mate, try to leave at least 5m stopping distance between you. This prevents you being affected by their break dust, mud, flying stones etc.
• Avoid using the breaks when turning. You should always use the breaks to slow down and then turn the quad.
Fancy being in control of a mini-you? Check out our range of RC cars!
