Top 10 RC Helicopter Flight Tips
There are a million tips out there, but being the RC helicopter experts we are, we’ve complied our own top ten nuggets of advice just for you!
- Review your environment carefully before flight– no overhead wires, no potential human or animal casualties etc.
- Always check the integrity of radio controlled helicopters before you fly – screws, bolts etc.
- If you crash (which you probably will a fair few times at the beginning!) be sure to check your RC chopper for damage carefully – a dropped screw in a field of grass is a PAIN!
- Try to keep a record of tactics and techniques that caused problems, e.g. “tilted ‘copter too much into the wind and crashed”
- Hovering is pretty tough and requires both expert skill and more power, so if you’re on a hovering mission, take spare power and be prepared for a lot of non-hovering frustration!
- Carrying your fantastic new micro RC helicopter properly is as important as not crashing it into people’s houses. If you don’t treat it well, you can’t expect top performance.
- Join an RC club or online forum. There’s a lot to be learned from Youtube.com example videos although we also provide great online demo videos.
- Put in the time to learn a little about the mechanics of your RC hobby. We sell heaps of ready-made machines, but a little insider knowledge on your part can go a long way.
- Keep grandma away from the controls!
- Have fun!
